Start your day bright and early at the Airlie Beach Foreshore Markets, which spring to life on the Esplanade every Saturday morning. The Markets are held just a few minutes walk from the Airlie Beach Lagoon - a free tropical swimming pool perfect for a refreshing dip before lunch (and cocktails) with the ladies. You’ll find a strip of dining options along Shute Harbour Road, along with other restaurants and bars dotted along the waterfront and throughout the town. If you really want to get away from it all, take a day trip and escape to beautiful Hydeaway Bay. You’ll feel like you’ve landed on a remote tropical island as you soak up the sights from the long sandy beach, or toast to your hen at the beachfront restaurant.

Of course, if you’re travelling a long distance to visit Airlie Beach, then you have to jump on the ferry and head to Hamilton Island for the next chapter of your hens party adventure. From here, travel by helicopter or seaplane to see Heart Reef - a naturally formed coral reef in the shape of a heart, tour to Whitehaven Beach to see some of the purest white sand in the world, or duck into Daydream Island for a taste of luxury resort living.

Magnums is a super-sized backpacker hostel and nightclub with all-day drinks in the beer garden, terrace bar and gaming room. On Friday and Saturday nights, the dance floor in the party bar fires up with DJs, live music and other special events… a foam party perhaps? Also bouncing on weekends is Mama Africa, and nights here are as wild as the name suggests. For a Sunday session, you can’t go past The Shed Bar, which is as the name suggests - a bar in a tin shed. It’s all quintessentially Airlie.
